WBRS News is a student created and directed news program that is produced by 6th graders with the help of Ms. Danielle Ulacco. The weekly broadcast is shown throughout the school building always answering the question, what is happening at Beecher this week. The student reporters work with Ms. Ulacco to find important news, facts, and incorporate them into a script to share with the school community. The student anchors share upcoming field trips, words of the week, along with the weather and the cafeteria menu for the week. The students also learn to use a green screen, video cameras, and microphones to give the broadcast a professional feel. Students of all grades cannot wait to get to sixth grade to be a part of the WBRS crew. Since its first broadcast six years ago, the WBRS news has become a weekly staple to kick off the start of the school week.
