Update from Superintendent Bob Gibert
Hello Beecher Road School Families,
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support during my recent surgery and recuperation. Thank you for the cards, emails, calls and other expressions of good health - you are a true caring community!
As you have heard, my surgery was a complete success and my recovery has progressed better than expected. During the month of November, I have been able to start my transition back to work. Each week I have increased my time at the school to work on several projects including our 2020-21 budget. I will be back to work full time on Monday, December 2.
I would again like to thank our Special Education Director Cheryl Mammen for assuming the role of Acting Superintendent during my absence. She will continue this role through the end of November.
I wish all of you a joyous and peaceful Thanksgiving holiday.
Sincerely yours,
Bob Gilbert
Superintendent
Woodbridge School District
Looking for Volunteers
The Library is looking for some helping hands in the mornings with a variety of tasks. Any amount of time would be appreciated. Please email the Librarians to find out more: Larissa Crocco lcrocco@woodbridgeps.org and Lori Patrick lpatrick@woodbridgeps.org
PTO Book Fair
The Arctic Adventure Book Fair will run from December 2nd to the 5th. Please check the schedule that was sent home to learn when your child will be attending. Family night will be held on Wednesday, December 4th from 5:00 - 7:00pm.
Report Card Distribution
Report cards for the first term will be distributed on December 6th. Each report card has a narrative written by teachers that describes progress to date. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher or the administrative team.
Bus Safety
There are a few important reminders that are worth repeating with regard to the bus ride. Eating is not allowed on the bus. Please encourage children to finish breakfast prior to boarding the bus and remind them that snacks are not permitted while on the bus. This is extremely important for the safety of all of our students.
Buses are an extension of the school. This means that the same rules apply regarding appropriate language and safety (keeping our hands to ourselves). Additionally, buses are school property. That means any destruction of them is absolutely not permissible. Please remind your children of these very important reminders. Safety is our first priority!
Principal's Coffee and Conversation
The first Friday of every month is an opportunity to gather for casual coffee and conversation with myself and other members of the administrative team. There is not a formal presentation or agenda; but rather, an opportunity to come together and discuss any topics of interest. I'd like to invite you to join us on Friday, December 6th at 8:00 am.
Kindness Tree
Beecher continues to celebrate World Kindness Day through random acts of kindness! Our Kindness Tree is blooming with all the joy our students are spreading!
