Woodbridge School District Principal's Message
Dear BRS Community,
This week we celebrated our 6th graders during a virtual D.A.R.E. graduation. Although it was not the ceremony they had expected, we still managed to come together as a community to celebrate the learning journey of our oldest students. Many thanks to the sixth grade teachers, Officer Lynch and the administrative team for organizing this opportunity. And, of course, a big congratulations to our sixth graders! The spring is also a season for many special events - field day, class plays, spring concerts, Arts Week -- for some of these events we are finding some new and creative ways to share them with you. Stay tuned for more information about that coming soon! ArtsWeek 13 - SKY! ArtsWeek 13 has gone virtual! We will be creating a gallery of artwork on the district website with the theme of SKY! See the attached flyer for ideas-- we can't wait to see what you create!
As J.K. Rowling said, "I will defend the importance of bedtime stories to my last gasp." We couldn't agree more! Check out our district website to find some recorded read alouds. All have been read with permission from the author and publishers!

Dear Parents, I want to take another opportunity to thank all our parents for supporting their children during this time of Distance Learning. We know that this is a very challenging time as you juggle your job responsibilities while simultaneously supporting your children. As many parents reach their saturation point, I would offer this resource which provides tips on Routines, Relationships and Reassurances. In the video you will hear from students, teachers, and parents. Here's the link: https://portal.ct.gov/SDE/COVID19/Professional-Support-Series-for-Families/Social-and-Emotional-Support/The-Three-Rs-of-Learning-from-Home---Tips-for-Stressed-out-Families
Thank you again for your amazing efforts!
Be well,
Superintendent Bob Gilbert
Summer Programs Many programs in the area, including Woodbridge Recreation, have decided to cancel on-site programs for a variety of reasons. The same concerns and challenges exist for our summer programs. We are very concerned about the safety of our students this summer. We plan to provide a final decision on summer programs in the very near future.
Survey In the coming weeks, we will provide a survey to all parents that gives an opportunity to reflect on Distance Learning. This will aid us as we plan for the future. Thank you, in advance, for your help in completing the survey.
