Dear BRS Community,
I hope everyone enjoyed the winter break and had the opportunity to spend time with family, friends and loved ones. I managed to organize the closet of one of my children, which seemed like a huge accomplishment! It was wonderful to welcome the students back into the building at the start of 2023! Many teachers spent time reviewing classroom expectations, setting goals for the next few months and diving back into the learning. I look forward to the coming months as we continue to grow, learn and practice kindness together!
End of Free Meals for All
Beginning on January 23rd, our SMART FUNDS from the State of CT will run out. Therefore, we will no longer be able to offer free meals to all students. On January 23rd full paid lunches will be $3.00 and a Reduced Lunch will be $0.40. If you feel the need, and have not already applied for free or reduced lunch, please contact Bethany Freeman in the North Office to receive an application. Please ensure that your student has funds in their Meal Pay Plus account. Thank you for your continued participation!
Change in Letter Day
For the 2022-2023 school year, should we miss school due to a weather or other reason, the letter day calendar will continue. This is different from previous years. For example, if there is a snow day on letter day B, the next day we are in school will be C day. The letter day calendar is always available on the district website.
Power School Parent Portal Reminder
One way that we utilize Power School is to communicate with all families. Demographic information; including phone numbers and emergency contacts, are located in Power School. Thus, updating your parent portal is critical so that we can contact you in the event of an emergency. Please utilize this link in order to complete the process.
Green Team Tip
Donate your weekend shave!
Save on water, foam, and balm by forgoing your daily shaving ritual at the weekend. Your partner might object to your stubble, but just remind them, it's all for the greener good…
