Superintendent's Communications

Dear Students, Parents, Families and Residents of Woodbridge,
It is with great pride that I serve as the Superintendent for Woodbridge and Beecher Road School! I am firmly committed to serving the students and community of Woodbridge to my fullest potential.
Beecher Road School is the "heart" of the community. Parents choose to live in Woodbridge because of the reputation of Beecher and are very proud of the school district. Beecher parents are highly educated and fully engaged in supporting their children. Faculty and staff are skilled professionals dedicated to meeting student needs and ensuring their success. They make education an adventure that is seamlessly woven into academic, the arts, physical and emotional well-being and children are known as individuals.
In the past decade, strong relationships have been built between the district and town community members, officials and organizations. The district and town share in the success of Beecher and collaboratively invest in its future. BRS is a warm, welcoming school. New families, students and staff members quickly feel comfortable and part of the community. There is constant communication and outreach between families and school. They work together to prepare children to become responsible, caring and contributing members of a diverse global community. There is a strong sense of concern, compassion and care for all members of the school.
Beecher is known for its strong academic programs and many initiatives--- Readers Writers Workshop literacy model, the Spanish World Language program, technology integration and Responsive Classroom are just some examples. A unique aspect of Beecher is that the arts are considered equal to academics in importance and there are many opportunities for exploration and recognition in music, art and drama. Beecher promotes positive attitudes and excitement about cultural diversity and global citizenship. BRS is constantly busy with numerous programs for students both before and after school.
A new strategic plan will guide our work over the next few years I would encourage you to click on the link below to view the plan and its goals and priorities.
