Beginning Band is offered to students in grade 4. In addition to their in-school instruction students rehearse together as an entire band ensemble from 8:30am - 9:00am on B Day mornings. Students learn basic note reading and perform basic band literature throughout the year. Some students will be promoted to Advanced Band during their fourth grade year.
Rental Instruments can be set up over the phone through Music & Arts in East Hartford at (860)5680692. Instruments will be delivered to the band room for pick up.

4 Easy Steps
1 - Tuesday Night Registration for Beginning Band 4th Graders.
2 - Fill out rental forms that night to ensure instruments will arrive at the school in time for the first instrument lesson.
3 - Check off the Standard of Excellence Method Book for your instrument.
4 - Instrument lessons will start the week of Nov. 8th 2018 with or without instruments (with is better).
Rental Forms will be provided at the Meeting for parents so that Students will not miss the first lesson.
The Instrumental Music Open House is offered to all Parents in Grades 4 - 5 - 6.

The 8:30 am Ensemble practice for Beginning Band will begin on January 2018 and continue until the end of June.
All 6th Grade Band Uniforms need to be returned and inventoried by Friday June 5th, 2020
Any borrowed school instruments, flags, or rifles need to be returned to the band room by Friday June 5th, 2020
If rental instruments need to go back the last day to return the instruments is Thursday June 4th, 2020, After that date arrangements need to be made with Music and Arts at (860)568-0692.

4th Grade Students will begin in November 2019.
I will pick students up from music and walk them down to the Band Room
Do Band Students have to stay after school? No
Do Band Students have to buy an instrument? No…but one can be rented the night of the open house
Are Band Instrument Rentals Expensive? No…initially one can be rented as low as about $30 for the first 4 months
Do Band students miss lots of class work for lessons? No, Band students are pulled out during music and have a combined lunch lesson
