CECA 2013 Presentations

IPADS ACROSS ELEMENTARY GRADES (PART 1): BEYOND THE APPS

Using the iPad in the classroom is not about the apps, but how apps are used as instructional and learning tools. In a two-year pilot for grades two and six, multipurpose apps allow students to use the iPad to demonstrate their understanding of concepts, to show their thinking in flexible and creative ways, and to self-differentiate their learning. The presenters will discuss the findings of this pilot, share specific strategies for effectively using ipads as a value-added learning tool in the classroom, and show sample works and apps.

IPADS ACROSS ELEMENTARY GRADES (PART 2): BEHIND THE SCENES

What creates an environment where teachers simply teach using iPads without sweating the details? This followup to the presentation, “iPads Across Elementary Grades (Part 1): Beyond the Apps”, lets you see what happens behind the scenes making the pilot possible. Learn about the development of this pilot including “Engaging Innovative and Creative Educators” and “Dealing with the Under-Thirteen Problem”.
